'The moment you step back to protect yourself — and find the strength that was always there.'

This painting was born out of rupture — not a moment of violence, but a long, slow untangling. It captures the emotional distance that forms when clarity finally sets in: the point where inherited roles are set aside in favor of radical self-preservation.

The figure is seated, yet unyielding. Her gaze meets the viewer directly — not seeking connection, no longer trying to meet expectations. There is no invitation here, only presence.

Surrounded by abstraction in tones of shadow and fire, she emerges from the chaos not unscathed, but unwavering. The tension in her posture speaks of a boundary drawn, a silence that says: this is enough. The title, "This is what you asked for," reflects a moment of painful recognition — the point where separation becomes the only path back to integrity.

This work reflects my broader artistic practice: combining figurative realism with abstract atmospheres to explore psychological landscapes. I aim to create portraits that are both intimate and universal — works that invite the viewer to recognize their own moments of reckoning, and the strength it takes to choose oneself.
